i fucking hate tumblr so much seriously

you guys are always like “i want equality!” except gay people are better than straight people and women are better than men and poc are better than white people and trans people are better than cis people

if you claim you want equality, but put someone down because they’re privileged, that doesn’t make you an advocate for equality, it makes you an asshole

Reblog if your cramps have ever

  • made you vomit
  • lasted between 2-3 days
  • stopped you from being able to walk or run
  • made you cry

It’s not considered a viable excuse on any occasion, and I would like to know why.

add

  • woken you up at night the pain was so bad

also

  • made you pass out

don’t forget

  • made you unable to stand up without doubling over and grabbing onto the closest object for support

-all of the above-

No yelling or screaming or blaming or fighting…nothing like the Hollywood portrayals of birth.
"A mother gives birth to her son. This photograph captured a momentous introduction of a mother and baby’s first exchange. The baby is suspended in time, half way inside his mother and the world; being guided out by his mother’s own hands. Photograph was captured by friend and doula of the mother."

when i was in elementary school i was told by my teacher to stop using exclamation marks for every sentence and that they should only be used for exciting things and i remember feeling confused because i thought everything was exciting

this is the saddest thing I’ve ever read

What makes it even sadder is the fact that there is not even one exclamation mark in there

growing up destroys your soul little by little.

The fact is, a 14-year-old girl may be capable of agreeing to sex with a 49-year-old man, but she doesn’t have the emotional and mental maturity to consent. I was 25 before I realized that every man I’d slept with as a teenager was a pedophile. It seemed to me that since I’d courted the attention, that I was fully culpable. What teenager believes she is not mentally or emotionally capable of full consent? I thought I was an adult, although when I look at the picture of myself from the time period above, I see a child.

I thought I was the exception for these men, the girl so precocious and advanced that it superseded social norms. I thought that I was “older than my chronological age.”

It never occurred to me as a young sexually active teen that the adult men I had relationships with may have been manipulating me, that they had designs and motives I couldn’t see from my limited child’s perspective.

Emily, XOJANE, "The Myth of the Teenage Temptress, or Why a Young Girl Can Not Consent to Sex with an Adult Man"

Everyone should read this article if they haven’t already. The anecdotes are upsetting and carry major TW (pedophilia, graphic depictions of sex), but the message is just so on point.
